我侭な人は、「私はあなたにこうして欲しい」と言えない。個人的な要求をするなんて、我侭な人みたいだから。だから、「普通はこうする」「これが常識」「だからあなたは～すべきだ」という言い方をする。この方法なら、自分は我侭を言っているのではなく、単に正しいことを言っているだけだと思える。
つまり、自分の我侭さを認めたくないという我侭だ。
